Yes, it is true… Stasis is being canceled. It was a tough decision but there were too many things going wrong in development for me to keep pushing through. It isn’t something that I want but it is for the best. Retirement of Stasis For those who want to know more on why it is being canceled. There are two main reasons.

  1. A large part of the game design had fundamental problems. The game didn’t really a much of a focus on time or use time in an interesting way. Time was more of a “Oh yeah… I have this” aspect of the game. Also some of the concepts of the game were fundamentally broken and the solutions didn’t really fit my vision of what I want the game to be.
  2. I already have spent too much time on this game to revamp it again. Stasis never left the “prototype” stage and I have been working on it for a year and a half. It has undergone numerous redesigns before and it has taken way too much time to even get to this point and there are still features not in the game.

I do say this with a heavy heart. I really was trying to find a way to make it work, but in the end, it just didn’t turn out right. With all that said, I am putting the current build up for you to try:

Stasis Prototype v2

What now? Well I am working on figuring that out. I am going to be looking into and trying out some ideas that I have. I want to make sure that these ideas are solid before I display them to everyone. I still am planning on submitting Glitch in the System for the Glitch Gaming Booth at the State Fair. I am also working on another project that may or may not be at the fair as well, but I will talk about that later. It has been a wild ride with Stasis, but I think that this is the best call.
